Bike Case Rentals

Bike Case Rentals

Traveling with your bike for a race, training camp, or cycling vacation can be stressful. Your bike is one of your most valuable pieces of equipment, and trusting it to an airline without proper protection is a risk most athletes would rather avoid.

That is why Aeriv offers bike case rentals for athletes traveling from the Denver area and throughout Colorado.

Why Rent a Bike Travel Case?

A high-quality bike travel case can cost hundreds of dollars, sometimes well over $1,000. If you only travel with your bike once or twice each year, buying and storing a case may not make much sense.

Renting gives you access to a proper bike travel case when you need one without the cost, storage space, or long-term commitment of owning one.

Bike case rentals are ideal for:

  • Ironman and 70.3 races

  • Destination triathlons

  • Cycling events and gran fondos

  • Training camps

  • International races

  • Cycling vacations

  • Athletes flying with road, triathlon, or time-trial bikes

Protect Your Bike While Traveling

Airline baggage systems are not exactly gentle.

A dedicated bike travel case helps protect your frame, wheels, drivetrain, handlebars, and other components from impacts during transportation. Compared with improvised packaging or lightweight cardboard boxes, a purpose-built bike case provides substantially more protection and makes traveling with your bike easier.

For athletes traveling with expensive carbon bikes, race wheels, electronic drivetrains, and integrated cockpit systems, proper protection becomes even more important.

Skip the Cost and Storage of Owning a Bike Case

One of the biggest disadvantages of owning a bike travel case is what happens during the other 360 days of the year.

Bike cases are large.

They take up significant space in garages, basements, apartments, and storage units. Renting allows you to pick up a case before your trip, travel with your bike, and return it when you get home.

No long-term storage required.

Make Traveling Even Easier With Aeriv's Round Trip Service

Taking apart and rebuilding a modern road or triathlon bike can be intimidating, especially when dealing with integrated aerobars, hydraulic brakes, electronic shifting, disc brakes, and carbon components.

Aeriv offers an optional Round Trip Service to make the entire process easier.

With Round Trip Service, we can pack your bike into the travel case before your trip.

When you return, bring the bike and case back to us and we will rebuild your bike so it is ready to ride again.

This is especially useful for triathletes traveling with complex race bikes or athletes who simply do not want to worry about whether everything has been assembled and torqued correctly.

Traveling to an Ironman or Triathlon?

Bike travel becomes even more important when your race is hundreds or thousands of miles from home.

Between race registration, hotels, flights, nutrition, equipment, and logistics, there is already enough to think about.

Your bike transportation should be the easy part.

Renting a bike case allows you to travel with the bike you have trained on instead of relying on shipping companies, rental bikes, or unfamiliar equipment.

It also gives you control over when your bike travels with you.

Bike Case Rentals in the Denver Area

Aeriv provides bike travel case rentals for athletes in Denver, Arvada, Lakewood, Golden, Boulder, Westminster, and the surrounding Colorado Front Range.

Bike cases are picked up locally at Arvada Triathlon Company in Arvada, Colorado.

We recommend reserving early for popular race weekends, particularly during Ironman season and major cycling events, as rental availability can become limited.

Tips for Flying With Your Bike

Before heading to the airport, there are a few things worth checking.

First, review your airline's current bike baggage policy. Airlines vary significantly in their size restrictions, baggage fees, and handling of bicycles.

Remove accessories that could become loose during transportation, including bottles, computers, lights, and saddle bags.

Bring the tools you may need at your destination, including appropriate Allen keys, a torque wrench, and your bike's specific components or adapters.

It is also a good idea to take photographs of your bike before closing the case. This gives you a record of its condition before travel.

Finally, give yourself plenty of time to rebuild and test your bike before race day. You do not want your first ride after assembling your bike to be the opening miles of an Ironman.

Traveling With Your Bike Shouldn't Be Complicated

Whether you are heading to your first destination race or traveling internationally for a championship event, Aeriv can help simplify the process.
